VerticalResponse, Inc. a leading provider of leading provider of self-service email marketing, online survey and direct mail solutions for small businesses, today announces CEO Janine Popick won a Stevie Award for "Best Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business—for the second year in a row. VerticalResponse was also named as a finalist for four other categories, including fastest-growing company, best overall company, website of the year and blog of the year. This marks the fourth year in a row that VerticalResponse has been a finalist in one or more categories for the Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The 2009 Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the organizations they run. The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business AwardsSM. With over 300 businesswomen in attendance, the winners of the 6th annual awards competition were announced at an awards dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
More than 1,100 nominations were submitted for consideration in 54 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best Community Involvement Program. In winning the Stevie, Janine was up against finalists including Founder and President Sonu Ratra of Akraya, Inc., and CEO of APT, Inc., Dr. Kathleen Kappy Lundquist. Earlier this year Janine was also named as a Northern California finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Awards.
