PRZOOM - /newswire/ - London, United Kingdom, 11/19/2009 - Jess McDarren, Head of Finance at leading UK natural search conversion agency Tamar, last night won the Accountancy Age Young Accountant of the Year award.

The Accountancy Age awards mark outstanding performance in business, practice and technology, and celebrate the work that provides the bedrock for UK business. The judges were impressed with Jess’s total commitment and her ability to manage large-scale projects despite her relative inexperience.

Jess, who joined Tamar in 2005, was applauded for her selection and implementation of a highly successful management information system as well as the complex task of setting up a wholly owned business in Shanghai, which she delivered ahead of schedule. She also brought a fresh approach to the company’s registered charity, organising a rock concert to raise money.

Jess also qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) this year while working full-time and bringing up two young children.
