Oak Brook Terrace, IL, United States, 2009/11/10 - 53 user experience professionals. 21 countries represented. 250+ global research projects conducted. 1 book that combines expert knowledge and experience for conducting international user research projects.
The Handbook of Global User Research, a united academic effort from the members of the User Experience Alliance (UXalliance) and other user experience experts from around the world, provides an abundance of perspectives and insights drawn from unique cultural experiences. With the goal of producing a resource relevant to practitioners worldwide, this book provides first-hand knowledge into logistical and planning issues you may encounter when working across countries.
Frédéric Gaillard, chapter contributor and Manager of Axance (France), believes the Handbook of Global User Research is “a great example of the value we have built in the last 5+ years working as close partners in the UXalliance. We have not just met our clients’ expectations for large international projects, but we have above all been building our own methods and tools to preserve the most important value of a multicultural study: the consistency between countries while saving valuable time (and money) at the same time.”
Yiner Ya, Research Director at User Experience, Ltd. (China), describes this effort as “a recipe book ready to be used at any stage in the process of conducting a multinational study. It meticulously explains cultural considerations and elements that are crucial to respect when working internationally.”
“When you have a dedicated group of professionals committed to high quality work, respectful of cultural differences, fearless of facing challenging situations, the results can only be great!,” adds Mercedes Sanchez, chapter contributor and owner of Mercedes Sanchez Usabilidade e Pesquisa (Brazil).
The Handbook of Global User Research is published by Morgan-Kaufmann and is available on Amazon.com or directly through ElsevierDirect.com/.
