Renton, WA, United States, 2009/10/05 - Lightel Technologies, Inc., which recently introduced the DI-1000 digital inspection probe for inspecting fiber optic connectors, adds a Pass / Fail software option for all Lightel video microscopes.
Lightel Technologies, Inc. today announced the upcoming release of its new ConnectorView Plus software for Pass / Fail analysis of fiber optic connector endface contamination.
Lightel has a history of innovation within the fiberoptic industry. The CI-1000 set a new standard for portable video microscopes. Lightel’s patented ViewConn® was the first video microscope offering inspection and cleaning in one hand-held unit. ViewConn Plus was the first to offer inspection of both male and female connector endfaces without changing tips. And last year’s VC-6100-OPM added that important third step – testing, becoming the only integrated hand-held inspection, cleaning and testing unit in the industry.
ConnectorView Plus was designed from the start for use in the field. Simple to use, it is self-calibrating, fast and accurate. It provides a snapshot of the connector attached to the analysis report, along with the pass / fail rating, and a statement of the criteria used for that rating. The criteria can be set to match corporate standards, or the default settings can be used. A summary report is also provided for all saved analysis reports.
Any Lightel video microscope can use ConnectorView Plus. All that is needed is a Windows® PC and a USB2.0 port.
“We are offering something unique,” said Ted Bartunek, Lightel’s sales manager for inspection and cleaning products. “For the first time, customers can select the video microscope with best matches their needs, knowing they can add analytical software now or in the future – no matter which of our scopes they choose.”
