MINDBODY, Inc. is proud to be recognized for yet another year of successful growth as the world’s largest business management software provider to the Wellness Industry. MINDBODY has earned the position of 370 on the 2009 Inc.500, which is Inc. Magazine’s annual ranking of the fastest growing private companies in America. This places MINDBODY in the top 10th percentile of the 5,000 businesses included, and 21st among the Top 100 of the fastest growing software companies in America.
MINDBODY pioneered the first fully web-based business management system for the Wellness Industry. Now 5,300 businesses in 55 countries rely on MINDBODY to manage their bookkeeping, staff and client management, retail sales, scheduling, and more.
Growing at the rate of over 300 new clients per month, the company’s rapid growth has been attributed to the software’s ease of use and implementation. MINDBODY clients do not have to install, host, or store anything on hardware at their business locations. Upgrades are done monthly, require no installation, and are completely free. Because the software exists entirely online, even large corporations use MINDBODY to manage staff, clients, supply chains, and services obviating the need for a large IT department.
This approach passes significant savings on to clients. MINDBODY has been able to fill a void for businesses such as gyms, salons, and yoga studios that have had to choose between running outdated software or no software at all to fulfill their business management needs. And, starting at only $65 a month, the software is the most affordable solution for small businesses as well.
MINDBODY is also proud to be recognized as a green business. The company operates in a LEED certified (green building) facility with cork flooring, recycled-content office accents, natural ventilation, and water conservation. The company uses only a quarter of the energy per square foot as it did in its previous location.
Inc. has listed America’s 5,000 fastest-growing private companies annually since 1982. Climbing to the top 500 is a high honor. Past companies who have achieved this milestone include Visa, ReStockIt.com, Visio, Microsoft Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Zappos.com, and Red Ventures, an advertising giant for businesses like DirecTV, ADT Security Services, and Sirius Satellite Radio.
MINDBODY's roots go back to 1998, when it was the first software consulting firm developing easy-to-use client and teacher management solutions for yoga, pilates, and spinning studios. In 2001, the company became an LLC, took the business name MindBody Software, hired its first employees and released the first hosted data synchronization service designed for small businesses. MindBody Software led the industry again in 2003 with an online scheduling program that was the first web-based client scheduling tool that synchronized to desktop studio management software.
In 2005, MindBody Software (mindbodyonline.com) grew rapidly after transitioning its business management capabilities to a flexible and infinitely scalable web-based platform; the online version proved to be much more powerful and cost effective than desktop software. By mid-2005 sales of MindBody Software's online solution had eclipsed its desktop software. MindBody Software changed its name to MINDBODY Online, and later to MINDBODY, Inc. in late 2007 to reflect its flexibility in a fast-paced market.
Whether self-employed and working from home or the manager of a large multi-location enterprise, business owners have simplified their lives, boosted revenue, and been able to focus more on clients thanks to MINDBODY. From online dance studio scheduling to health center inventory management, MINDBODY offers solutions that make sense in the Health and Wellness Industry.
