EUROSTAR, the global satellite industry leader, announced the KSA launch of the Arab Box, the world’s first Arabic digital satellite receiver, at a dinner party for dealers and the media held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the Trident Hotel in Jeddah. The launch followed a press briefing held on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Ollaya Hotel in Riyadh. The Arab Box is the only 100 per cent Arabic- and English-enabled digital satellite receiver, and incorporates a host of functionalities in both languages.
EUROSTAR also announced the launch of the “Watch the World Cup with EUROSTAR” campaign, whereby subscribers of Arab Box can opt to watch the World Cup Football to be held in Germany during the months of June and July, 2006 on ART. EUROSTAR is one of the leading distributors for ART in the region, which will be broadcasting the premier sporting event live. EUROSTAR is also running a promotion where customers purchasing an Arab Box or other EUROSTAR products worth AED 200, as well as subscribers to the EUROSTAR World Cup Package will be entered into a raffle draw, allowing them to stand a chance of winning 3 Chevrolet cars, and AED 2 million worth of prizes, including flat screen TVs, home theatre systems, digital cameras, mobile phones, DVD satellite receivers, MP3 players and music systems, all totaling to 200,000 prizes.
Speaking at the event held in Jeddah, Raju T. Arab Box comes equipped with a host of innovative features, including auto satellite search channel download, multi-picture preview, satellite card reader option for both free-to-air and other satellite channels, 4000 channel storage capacity, 256 color graphic user interface, support teletext and subtitle decoding, channel editing functions such as rename, move, lock, skip and delete, 16 predefined favorite list, multi-sat scan and network search options.
