Las Vegas, NV, United States, 2009/08/13 - Las Vegas architect Brandon Y. K. Maldonado of YWS Architects has become a licensed architect, joining the current roster of six licensed architects at YWS, one of the nation’s leaders in leisure design and architecture.
Having joined YWS in October of 2006, Maldonado’s architectural talents were immediately on display with his work on Fontainebleau and Sam’s Town.
“I came here from my home in Hilo, Hawaii, and after finishing my education at UNLV, I joined YWS after seeing the inspiring work they accomplished on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Maldonado. “YWS is unique in that they have the capability to build a mega-resort or casino from the ground up. Not many firms can say that.”
A student of architecture since 1996, Maldonado graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2000 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. Not satisfied, Maldonado returned to UNLV where in 2003 he received his Master’s Degree in Architecture. Upon earning his architect license, Maldonado also became a LEED Accredited Professional, highlighting his dedication to creating sustainable, environmentally-friendly buildings.
“Maldonado is the kind of architect that could easily lead the design of a fully functioning hotel,” said Tom Wucherer, co-founder of YWS. “His ingenuity and ability abound and we are proud to have him as part of the YWS family.”
