Deal Reinforces Network Programs' Position as a Leading Implementer of Workforce Management Solutions
Network Programs (India) Ltd (NPI), a leading provider of end-to-end contact centre solutions and offshore software development, today announced completion of a contract with a leading Bangladeshi GSM service provider for the implementation of Aspect Communications' eWorkforce Management (eWFM) product. The deal signed in collaboration with Network Programs' local Bangladeshi channel partner, represents NPI's first contract in Bangladesh. Expansion into Bangladesh and other South Asian markets is a key medium-term objective, and completion of NPI's first Bangla deal creates additional opportunities in Bangladesh's rapidly growing ICT sector.
According to Sameer Vatsa, Sales Director, "We were chosen over stiff competition based on Aspect's global leadership in the eWFM space as well as our pool for eWFM professionals. The solution involves far more than merely preparing forecasts and shift schedules, but focuses on managing the interaction centre's work in real time. In staff scheduling the solution is more than introducing intelligent technologies, as employee acceptance and usage determine success. Managing an interaction centre without real-time adherence would be like trying to drive up a mountain pass while looking in the rear-view mirror. These are relatively simple changes and the results speak for themselves".
Vipin Tyagi, CEO & President, Network Programs considers Bangladesh as an important market for Network Programs' global expansion plans. "Bangladesh has definitely supported our expansion strategy. This deal and its implementation support our efforts to expand our geographic reach into the SAARC region. The agreement has also reinforces our relationship with our partners. As a value added resellers for our partners products, we look forward to building on our partner relationships and strengthening our end-user customer base."

About Bangladesh's Telecom Market
Bangladesh's telecommunications sector has grown rapidly in recent years due to opening the sector to private investment in early 1990s, which stimulated massive investment in mobile communications. By the end of 2005, there were approximately 1M fixed telephone line and 4.5M cellular phones. According to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), there are 5 mobile operator and 17 licensed fixed line companies. The government's goals for the sector include increasing tele-density to 10 telephones per 100 inhabitants by 2010, establishing a phone in every village by 2006, promoting ICT applications to support socio- economic development, creating an enabling environment and customer choice for ICT services, encouraging public-private cooperation, and utilising ICT to reduce poverty.
