Concern of latex allergies has long been a deterrent for using latex gloves. Latex allergies are caused because of the presence of certain proteins in natural rubber that is the primary raw material for manufacture of these gloves.

The new process either reduces the natural rubber protein content considerably or enables the protein to be tightly bound into the rubber so that they cannot be released to penetrate the skin or to be inhaled.
Another finding that has been reported is that the risks of latex allergies can also be reduced by eliminating the glove powder. The latex protein molecules are very sticky and get attached to the nearest available surface. This increases the probability of inhalation of these proteins leading to allergies in some individuals. Therefore using powder free gloves is recommended; especially in applications that pose risks of cross-contamination.
