The Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance (SOMA) announced that it has contracted Site Location Partnership (SLP), a Dallas-based corporate site selection and economic development consulting firm, to provide targeted industry business attraction services. SLP will support the regional group with high-tech/high-touch strategies to drive job creation, new corporate investment, and economic growth.
“When SOMA was looking for new ways to access the U.S. market, SLP provided the most value for the investment,” said Sean Dyke, SOMA’s Director. “As the only Canadian region currently utilizing SLP’s services, the feeling was that we would attain maximum exposure in a variety of our key industry sectors.”
SLP’s Economic Development Practice will amplify SOMA’s business recruitment efforts through interactive marketing, meetings with site location consultants, website promotion, trade show representation, networking forums, and other dynamic strategies. Targeted industries related to medical devices, wind power, and solar energy will be aggressively pursued.
“It is vital for SOMA to position their location as an attractive alternative in the minds of corporate decision makers considering expansion or relocation,” stated Mark Darce, Senior Vice President of SLP. “Southwestern Ontario can be overlooked by site selectors in the U.S. simply because they are unaware of the region’s business climate and competitive advantages. We look forward to representing SOMA, dramatically enhancing their visibility, and turning some heads in the process.”
