Agito Networks, Inc., the company delivering innovative solutions in enterprise mobility, today announced that it has received a “Positive” rating in Gartner’s May 2009 report titled “MarketScope for Enterprise Mobile Communications Gateway.”
According to the Gartner, Inc., report, “As more and more organizations clamor for greater control over the myriad of telephony options, combined with the need to prepare for unified communications and collaboration (UCC), IT organizations will need to employ mechanisms that extend PBX functionality to users connected via cell phones. This is accomplished through a product segment called Enterprise Mobile Communications Gateways (EMCGs).” Additionally, “Companies interested in mobilizing their enterprise communications capabilities by integrating their mobile phones and communications applications would be interested in these products.” 1
Vendors in the EMCG space were rated based on a number of evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria which was weighted as high in determining the ratings included Market Understanding, Marketing Strategy, Innovation, Overall Viability, and Product/Service.
The Gartner, Inc., report continued, “The concept of FMC/mobile UC is rapidly gaining interest, as companies strategically assess enterprise telephony as the upgrade cycle to IP telephony continues.” Moreover, “Instead of being chained to the desk, users will be free to conduct business in a mobile environment, yet maintain enterprise functionality in wireless devices.” 1
“Our growing global customer base is reaping the benefits of enterprise mobile communications, and it’s gratifying to see the ‘Positive’ rating of Agito by the evaluation team at Gartner,” said Pejman Roshan, Agito Networks Chief Marketing Officer. “We believe Gartner’s rating confirms our position in the market and our commitment to providing customers with enterprise mobility solutions that meet their unique challenges.”
