PRZOOM - /newswire/ - St Albans, Herts, United Kingdom, 05/14/2009 - UK-based software developer Live Software Solutions (LSS), a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, has launched a research division, principally to design and bring to market creative and innovative technological solutions to business issues and needs.

Boother and LSS’s technical director, Mike Goatly, believe that while LSS is intent on investing in innovation to ensure the company's continued success, the Government should also do more to encourage small to medium sized technology companies - such as LSS.

Goatly explained: “While these companies are creative, agile and flexible, they need that creativity to be recognised and supported from central funds. Investment in technology innovation need not be capital intensive but it can be risky until the innovation achieves a certain level of market penetration.”

Boother added: "Innovation and technology drives every country’s economy and so plays a large part in determining that country’s long-term viability. So, if the UK Government continues to overlook and not invest in innovation among smaller companies, then UK plc will be hampered in its fight out of recession.

"There should be a fund available for financing new ideas and proper additional government incentives to reduce some of the risks that this industry has to take on," he added.
