Newport Beach, CA, United States, 2009/05/01 - Each back-to-the-barn fleet vehicle reports oil condition wirelessly, automatically using the IntelliStick Fleet Communications Pack.
The new IntelliStick Fleet Communications Pack automatically detects individual IntelliStick oil condition monitors when fleet vehicles ‘return-to-barn,’ sending updated data to the maintenance supervisor. A graph representing each vehicle’s data displays loss of oil additives, oxidation, water contamination, and fluid temperature.
The system is highly suitable to work truck fleets such as busses, delivery fleets, trash/waste haulers and similar fleet operations with six or more IntelliStick devices installed. The Communications Pack communicates by Bluetooth® between the central location and IntelliStick devices within a range of up to 300 feet. The hardware and software combination brings critical data to the supervisor, ensuring fewer missed inspections.
IntelliStick is a patented innovation in real-time intrusion and oil-condition monitoring that continuously reports information vital to protecting mission-critical engine parts. It scans for water, fuel and coolant intrusion, monitors oil condition, and triggers alarms based on customer specifications.
An estimated 8.5% of vehicle engines have a problem with intrusion, according to a NORIA study. IntelliStick allows a fleet manager to save time and money by detecting intrusion and taking action before it escalates to a $25,000 engine rebuild. Combined with the savings that result from optimizing oil condition, minimizing downtime, and improving fuel efficiency, IntelliStick pays for itself in a matter of months.
