The Memorandum was signed by Commissioner and Director General, School Education, Haryana, Mr. K.K.Khandelwal and Director, Sales and Marketing Group, South Asia of Intel, Mr. Amar Babu, in the presence of Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, here. As per the MoU, the training programme workshops would be held in those schools or District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) or State Council of Education, Research and Training, Gurgaon, where computer labs are available. The trainers of Intel would conduct training and provide curriculum for both the Master Trainer (MT) and Master Trainer to Participant Trainer (MTPT). For broadcast through the Edusat network, Intel would develop and record the broadcast content for the training programme by June 1, 2006.

Independent education modules (Subject wise for senior secondary level) would be developed by Intel in consultation with Commissioner and Director General, School Education, Haryana. It would commence from September 1, 2006. The State Government would have perpetual right to use the broadcast content development by Intel, free of cost for broadcast through Edusat. The schedule of training would be reviewed in November, 2006 and as and when the number of computerised schools would be increased, the Intel would train an additional number of Master Trainers, who, thereafter, would train the participant teachers. A core committee comprising of a senior representative each from the Director’s office and Intel would be formed before the commencement of the programme in the State for supervision and ensure implementation in schools. The Professional Development Training will be based on Train the Trainer Model. The Intel would train one or two Lecturers per school from the Computerised Government Senior Secondary Schools as Master Trainer. The training session would be of ten working days for six hours daily. Each MT batch would have 20 participants and would train a minimum of ten Lecturers or teachers in their schools on Intel Teach to the Future Curriculum. This training would be known as Participant Teacher Training and it would be mandatory and to be completed within two months of completion of the course.

Following this, the Master Trainers would train the remaining Lecturers or Teachers, if any, in their respective schools within two months of course completion. Intel would provide material of training course for all teachers undergoing professional development under the Intel Teach to the Future Programme free of cost. A Nodal Officer appointed by the State Government for the programme would invite the Lecturers and Teachers for the Master Trainers. During the process of selection of a topic and lesson plan development, the Intel Senior Trainer would guide the Master Trainers and the Subject Teachers. A minimum of three topics would be selected by each teacher for an academic year. Projects would be planned in such a way that they not only promote research skill, but also aim for making real life connections. A team of 10 to 15 progressive Master Trainers would form a resource team regarding formation of District or State Core Committee for information and communication technology integration in the curriculum.

This core team would have subject matter specialists. Digital library would be maintained in all schools and project based learning would be made compulsory and integrated in the curriculum. Each school would be required to prepare atleast two technology based lesson plans per team and allot upto four periods per week for technology aided learning for a class. The Subject Teacher would develop application evaluation tools to assess learning in their students. The School Principal and Master Trainer would develop an Internal Evaluation System to monitor activities in the schools. The Intel would support the State Government for drafting State Information and Communication Technology in Education Vision to support State Education Development Plan, Creation of a State wide mechanism to create a systematic linkage between State Level policy, institution level implementation plans and capacity building and actual class room level implementation developing school level technology plans to maximise information and technology information for schools, Principals, Administration, Teacher Learners and aim at right use of technology and necessary curriculum changes and promote thinking of high order. Intel Master Trainer Clubs would also be developed around SCERT, Gurgaon and DIETs to support teacher development in the State. For satellites based programme-Edusat, 60 hours Master Trainer batch training in Hindi would be recorded and telecast over education through satelite (Edusat). One batch would be telecast every month for two or three hours per day. An evaluation and feed back mechanism would be developed jointly by intel and Haryana Education Department. The telecast would be repeated every month till all the teachers are trained.

The Intel would also develop independent subjectwise education modules for broadcast through Edusat infrastructure available with State Government and also conduct training programmes for about 100 or more subject specialists regarding use of technology or multimedia for the broadcast lessons to be developed. The training programme would be conducted during this month. The Government would provide connectivity from Edusat antenna or terminal of the classroom at all computer terminals in the computer lab of the schools for training programme through Edusat.
