CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, today announced that it had signed a new contract for the cross docking and national distribution of ambient goods to over 360 Caltex convenience stores across Australia.
Caltex Australia operates one of the leading convenience retail networks in the country, operating predominantly under its Star Mart brand.
The contract will see CEVA deliver a range of goods, including soft drinks, confectionery and grocery items from cross dock facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth within dedicated delivery windows.
To ensure that this ‘just in time’ service is achieved, all CEVA transport vehicles will be fitted with the latest ‘track and trace’ technology to provide visibility at all points of the supply chain and to ensure that Caltex convenience stores get the product they need, when they need it.
Managing Director of CEVA Australia, Mr Howard Critchley said that he is delighted that Caltex has chosen CEVA as its new partner and looks forward to further developing the relationship with plans already set to extend the level of service to additional convenience stores in the Caltex network over the next 12 -18 month period. “Importantly, today’s announcement confirms CEVA’s growing footprint in the fast paced consumer and retail market sector in Australia and demonstrates how CEVA is providing flexible and efficient distribution solutions to optimise the supply chain of customers" explained Mr Critchley.
Caltex Australia’s, Centralised Logistic Manger, Mr Sam Saysana commented that “CEVA’s commitment to operations excellence, its proven capability in developing a transport solution that fits Caltex's current and future growth strategies, and its ability to ensure the seamless continuity of business and service to customers, were all important factors in awarding CEVA this new contract”.
