Raleigh, NC, United States, 2009/01/27 - Daniel P. Erwin has been appointed corporate safety director and risk manager at Southern Industrial Constructors and Southern Crane, full-service industrial contractors.
In his new capacity, Erwin oversees all aspects of risk management in order to maintain a safe working environment.
His specific responsibilities include performing safety audits, managing workers’ compensation and emergency preparedness issues, and maintaining safety records for regulatory agencies. Erwin also conducts safety training for employees.

Erwin earned his master’s degree in occupational safety from East Carolina University and holds his Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
An OSHA 500 authorized instructor for construction-industry occupational health and safety, Erwin has served as an OSHA safety trainer for both the North Carolina and South Carolina departments of labor. Fluent in written and spoken Spanish, Erwin also has translated several OSHA documents on behalf of the N.C. Department of Labor. He is chairman of the safety committee for the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas.
Erwin is recognized as a certified mobile crane inspector by the Crane Institute of America, and as a certified tower crane inspector by the North American Crane Bureau. He is a certified master trainer with the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
