Solihull, West Midlands, United Kingdom, 2009/01/26 - Prompt PC Ltd, an IT company based in Longton has been awarded the prestigious Accredit UK Standard, which recognises the best technology suppliers in the country - VitisPR.com.
Prompt PC, which is headed up by Andrew Eardley, who comes from a problem solving background for the likes of Wedgwood and has also been Works Manager for a couple of local ceramics companies, has clients around the country and is planning to use the Accredit UK standard to help grow the business. Andrew, having spotted the general decline in the ceramics industry over ten years ago, took a proactive step to setup his own IT support company doing what he has always enjoyed – enhancing productivity, performance and profits in whichever business he has worked for. By completing the Accredit UK standard, Prompt PC has been recognised as providing an efficient, honest and reliable service.
The Accredit UK standard is an independent quality mark that promotes trust in IT and helps suppliers prove their excellence. It proves to potential IT purchasers that companies holding the mark operate with appropriately skilled people, clearly defined processes, and that the company has a track record of meeting customers’ expectations.
Prompt PC has been operating for over ten years and has built up an extensive customer base. The company offers professional and friendly IT support, maintenance and consultancy services to small and medium sized businesses. Recently, the company has been working with brand new local dental practice, Alchemy Dental Practice, comprising of nine surgeries where they provided IT infrastructure including networking, supply and installation of all computer and telephone systems. In addition, Prompt PC has a strong and varied client base in Staffordshire of over 300 businesses.
Andrew Eardley, Managing Director at Prompt PC explained why he decided to take part in the Accredit UK certification: “Having implemented ISO 9001 in my former employment, I was aware of the advantages that a formal quality system can have on the overall running of the business. However, I felt that ISO 9001 wasn’t relevant to the IT industry. Therefore, the Accredit UK standard appealed to me immediately as it met all the requirements of a quality system in a practical manner to deliver my customers needs. We have always had the vision to reach for excellence in all that we do and we wanted to formalise the work already done.“
Andrew went on further to describe how the certification has benefitted Prompt PC, “Our credibility has grown among companies that we are approaching for new business. Being one of the first IT Support Companies to be accredited shows our commitment to providing a quality service for our customers, and this award shows that we have formal procedures in place.”
The Accredit UK Assessor Mark Baxter said: “Prompt PC are a well established company, with well designed and mature internal management system processes, that have enabled them to achieve an impressive track record of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction over many years. They have a rigorous approach to ensuring that the work their professional engineers carry out is in line with the relevant industry standards. They have a dynamic and highly experienced senior management team focused on delivering on their well defined objectives and plan for further development and growth of the business.”
Vaughan Shayler, Programme Director for Accredit UK said: “By using the Accredit UK standard, PromptPC is helping to make it easier for purchasers to feel confident to buy services from technology companies.
94% of people that we surveyed think that the Accredit UK standard is a good idea. That is because it solves their burning need – they can now get what they want without fear.”
