Agito Networks, Inc., the company delivering new technology in enterprise mobility, today announced that customer Anthony Marano Company has won an InfoWorld 100 Award from IDG’s InfoWorld for its enterprise fixed mobile convergence (eFMC) project, which is powered by Agito Networks’ RoamAnywhere Mobility Router.
Every year, the InfoWorld 100 Awards celebrate 100 IT organizations that have implemented and integrated technologies in innovative ways in pursuit of concrete business goals. According to InfoWorld, this year’s recipients of InfoWorld’s highest honor are companies which prove that striking a new path in IT can reap deep organizational rewards.
“Breathing new life into outdated operations, advancing business goals with inventive use of technology – this year’s winners demonstrate, once again, that innovative, business-minded IT is the lifeblood of successful organizations,” said Jason Snyder, senior editor for InfoWorld. “We salute these shining examples of IT projects undertaken by technology leaders committed to pushing their organizations forward.”
To be considered for an InfoWorld 100 Award, projects must use multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals. In Anthony Marano Company’s case, the company built out its fixed mobile convergence infrastructure using eFMC ecosystem technology from Avaya, Nokia, Meru Networks and Agito Networks.
Anthony Marano Company serves the Midwest with fine fresh produce from its state-of-the-art distribution center, which deals in more than 1,400 types of fresh produce. However, the 400,000 square foot metal and concrete facility makes cellular communications impossible for the staff, which is constantly on the move between inside produce areas, shipping docks, receiving docks and internal offices. Now with Agito’s RoamAnywhere, Anthony Marano Company enables continuous high-quality voice coverage over its wireless LAN for its mobile staff, which needs to be accessible at all times to receive and fulfill a daily average of 3,000 orders, 90 percent of which are shipped the day they are received.
“Anthony Marano Company is a good example of how companies are leveraging Agito’s RoamAnywhere to improve their business processes, and we are pleased to see them recognized for their efforts,” said Pejman Roshan, Agito Networks vice president of marketing and the company’s co-founder. “The industry continues to recognize the enterprise mobility innovation brought to market by RoamAnywhere, which is being leveraged by enterprises to address mobility challenges, reduce costs, and improve the productivity of today’s growing mobile workforce.”
Agito Networks’ award-winning RoamAnywhere Mobility Router uniquely fuses WiFi, cellular, IP telephony, and location information, improving the accessibility and responsiveness of mobile workers, while drastically reducing mobile costs. RoamAnywhere uses the industry’s most complete set of proactive, location- and policy-based metrics, in addition to reactive metrics, to deliver fast and automatic, sub-100ms handover of mobile voice between WLAN and cellular networks. Purpose-built for the enterprise, RoamAnywhere uniquely offers high availability, redundancy, security, enterprise scalability, and the industry’s broadest mobile handset and IP-PBX support. It works with all cellular network technology, and natively integrates with enterprises’ existing equipment, including WLAN infrastructure and directory stores.
