Paul Swart has been promoted to director of accounting and statutory reporting for TriMas Corporation. Swart, who previously held the role of director of financial reporting, now reports directly to A. Mark Zeffiro, chief financial officer of TriMas Corporation.
Swart is focused on simplifying and consolidating external reporting content, as well as driving technical excellence across the accounting function throughout the corporation. He is the principle lead with respect to all statutory reporting requirements and home office accounting, in addition to serving as a key resource for technical accounting needs and a key contributor to the Board of Directors’ audit committee activities. Swart continues to provide support and leadership for all activities related to the corporate compliance infrastructure and contract review.
As director of financial reporting at the TriMas corporate office, Swart has been successful in improving processes related to corporate accounting and financial reporting. He also has held the positions of controller of Cequent Towing Products and manager of financial reporting during his five years with TriMas Corporation. Prior to joining TriMas, Swart held the position of manager – assurance and advisory business services for Ernst & Young LLP, and has performed audit and business advisory services for over 25 different organizations.
Swart earned his bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting concentration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He also is a certified public accountant.
