With MoCap technology advancing daily, motion capture specialists are continuously searching for new and exciting fields where MoCap technology can be used. At the head of this exploration, and advancement, is the Measurand Company. Their ShapeWrap III full body system, ShapeHand Data Glove, and their ShapeAccelArray Geotechnical sensors have countless examples of intuitive use.
Join Measurand at Siggraph 2008 this year to see the three dimensions of ShapeHand. Measurand will be displaying three stations at booth 1130 showing how ShapeHand can add life to your motion capture data. The Animation Station will show how easy it is to add hands to your existing motion capture data. The second station will show how you can record hand motion data, real-time and synchronized, with your optical system. The final station will show ShapeHand with Measurand’s portable motion capture system, ShapeWrap III. ShapeHand, because motion capture without hands is lifeless.
Check out ShapeWrap III in action at the XSI booth, Siggraph 2008. Join Carl Callewaert, from the Centre for Arts and Technology, at the XSI booth during Siggraph 2008. He will be demonstrating how his students used XSI Motor, Valve Source Engine, and Measurand’s ShapeWrap III motion capture system to model their school, capture the motion, and create a game, all during an 11 week course. The students used XSI motor to model their school and teachers. They then added motion to the characters using Measurand’s ShapeWrap III motion capture system. Finally, they brought it all together to create a paintball game using the Valve Source Engine.
