"Our virtual clinic provides people with a more convenient and interactive way to communicate with doctors from home to supplement regular doctor visits," said Brandon Wuerth, CEO and Founder of TalktoaDoc.org. TalktoaDoc.org provides patients with the opportunity to talk to a U.S. licensed physician LIVE directly from their home computer using text, voice, and/or video. The first minute of the conversation is free and the user is charged $2.98 for each additional minute thereafter.
"This service is unique as the communication is live and can be done using webcam. Other services are either message board style or cannot be done using a webcam," continued Wuerth. TalktoaDoc.org will initially only be open to people from the state of Kentucky. As the website grows it will gradually open up to all 50 U.S. states. Patients can choose from the following departments to direct their questions: All Departments (for General Questions), Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery. If there are no doctors currently online patients can have an email or text message sent to them the next time a doctor comes online. Patients can also view doctors projected online times which each doctor sets.
