NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced NVISION 08, a three-day action-packed gathering for professionals and enthusiasts who are passionate about visual computing.
NVISION 08 will be held August 25-27, 2008 in San Jose, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. It will feature visionary speakers, in-depth technical sessions, cutting-edge technology previews, a digital art gallery, and live musical entertainment – all centered on the theme “NVISION the World of Visual Computing.”
By bringing together thousands of participants from around the world – representing designers, artists, film makers, developers, inventors, researchers, and cyberathletes – NVIDIA and its partners will turn downtown San Jose into a mecca of visual computing this summer.
Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO, NVIDIA, said: “The amazing advancements in visual computing are transforming industries all over the world. In film, a movie director's wildest imagination can be rendered possible. In the automotive industry, engineers and designers use visual computing from start to finish – from design, styling, and prototyping to simulation, inventory management, advertising, and photorealistic showroom models. Visual computing enables gamers to be transported into alternate universes and virtual travelers to fly anywhere instantaneously. Doctors and scientists can interact with the building blocks of life as they work to discover cures for disease. Yet, the profound impact of visual computing is just beginning.”
Mr. Huang added: “NVISION 08 will be the defining event for visual computing. It brings the visual computing ecosystem under one roof to explore, share, and discover.”
NVISION 08 events will include:
• Keynote addresses by industry leaders and visionaries
• Conferences, breakout sessions, workshops, and expert panels
• Digital art gallery
• Guinness World Record-breaking attempt LAN party
• Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) Grand Final
