Todd Schrupp, Simon Bray and Vic Stauffer will provide insights, analysis and up-to-the-minute live reports from the historic racecourse. TVG’s coverage begins at 12:45 pm PT, 3:45 pm ET, with the first post from Bay Meadows.
The El Camino Real Derby, a 1 1/16-mile test for three-year-olds, is regarded as Northern California’s premier Kentucky Derby prep. Former winners of the race include Charismatic, the 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, and Tabasco Cat, winner of both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes in 1994.
“Our live on-track coverage puts horseracing fans right in the action at Bay Meadows,” said Tony Allevato, TVG senior vice president and executive producer. “The El Camino Real has a great history and features a group of three-year olds looking to make a name for themselves on the Derby trail.”
Opened in 1934, Bay Meadows is California’s oldest continuously operating racetrack. TVG will air live reports every Saturday and Sunday during the Winter/Spring meeting, which concludes Sunday, May 11
