Industria, a leading IPTV solutions provider, and Edgeware, a technology leader in on-demand TV, have signed a partnership agreement that focuses on close technical cooperation between the companies. Under this agreement, both parties commit to closer cooperation on both technical levels as within sales and marketing.
Building on a clear vision of where the IPTV industry is headed Edgeware and Industria are aiming to lower the complexities of setting up service and building a reliable and scalable infrastructure.
Industria recently announced Zignal Cloud, wherein service providers are able to subscribe to the Zignal middleware solution as a service; lowering total cost of ownership, decreasing time to market and focusing their efforts on customer care and marketing. Now, through pre-integration with Zignal Cloud, service providers can reduce the time to market for on-demand TV services.
Thorsteinn Yngvi Gudmundsson VP Product Development at Industria commented “We are truly excited to strengthen the relationship with Edgeware. Being able to offer service providers running their operation on Zignal Cloud pre-integrated access to the Edgeware solutions creates clear a business value for them. And for the end user it ensures Time-shift TV, VoD and nPVR are available from the start.”
Göran Appelquist VP Business Development at Edgeware commented: “Edgeware is pleased that the Orbit 2x on-demand server system is integrated with the innovative Zignal platform. We see the interest in rolling Time-shift TV services picking up rapidly among the service providers, and with the joint solution we can offer an attractive solution.”
Currently Zignal Cloud is available by invitation only, but service providers can apply to be included in the program from the Industria website. Zignal Cloud will be commercially available in the third quarter of 2008.
