OMNiBRIDGE, a TeliMatrix company (JSE: MIX) and a global leader in fleet management solutions, today announced that Strabag Montenegro, a subsidiary of one of Europe’s leading construction groups, have implemented OMNiBRIDGE’s fleet management solution across a fleet of 52 trucks and 29 construction equipment and roadwork vehicles.
The solution, comprised of OMNiBRIDGE’s FM 300 Communicator with built-in fuel measurement system, will enable Strabag to generate driver-specific reports detailing distance and route driven, driver performance such as over-speeding and harsh braking, as well as excessive idle time and sub-optimal use of equipment. The same information is also made available in real-time via event triggered SMS or email alerts through the FM-Web information service.
Dr Christian Ebner, Head of Corporate Communications for Strabag, said “The solution now enables us to reduce our fuel costs across our entire fleet by making us aware of driving behaviour and routes that lead to poor fuel efficiency. The reports we can now generate will enable us to reduce idle time of our equipment and vehicles and optimise their use.”
“This deal is a result of the close relationship we value and foster between us and our distributors and resellers,” said Charles Tasker, MD of OMNiBRIDGE, referring to OmniBridge’s network of resellers and distributors in over 75 countries across six continents. “Tahograf, our distributor in Montenegro, was responsible for the effective project management, installation of the units and successful rollout of the solution across Strabag’s fleet. Tahograf has been instrumental in helping us achieve a strong foothold in the construction industry in Eastern Europe through similar deals with leading construction companies such as Viadukt, Osijek-Koteks, Gradko, and Tehnika.”
