Brookfield, WI, United States, 2007/11/27 - A revolutionary water pipe restoration system has been introduced into the United States from Europe by ASE Flo-Rite, Inc., a new firm in Brookfield, Wisconsin - ASEFloRite.com.
The system, called the LSE-SYSTEMT, is used to repair potentially disastrous corrosion that accumulates over time in galvanized steel and copper water pipes in homes and other buildings.
The LSE process sand blasts affected pipes from the inside to remove the corrosion, then coats the insides with a patented epoxy that prevents further corrosion and the breakdown of the pipes. The procedure eliminates health hazards from people consuming corrosion-contaminated water and potentially saves major damage from pipes leaking or bursting and resulting repairs to the pipes, walls and flooring.
Dave Strigenz, owner of ASE Flo-Rite, stated that in many homes and buildings around the country, especially those over 10 years old, because of corrosion in the water pipes, people's drinking water becomes contaminated with heavy metals, rust and possibly lead. "Aside from possible effects on individual health, pipe corrosion can cause washing machines and dishwashers to fill slower, resulting in higher electrical bills and excessive wear and tear on those appliances," he said.
"Beyond those problems and costs, and much more seriously, corrosion can cause leakage and bursting of plumbing system pipes. Replacing a complete plumbing or heating system's pipes is a major expense and inconvenience, plus the costs of demolishing walls and flooring and replacement of drywall, flooring, carpeting, and so on," Strigenz added.
The LSE-SYSTEM water pipe restoration process was invented in Switzerland in 1987, and ASE Flo-Rite is the only firm in North America to offer this system. The company currently services all of Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota and is looking to make the system eventually available nationwide.
