At the launch of ‘Brave New Enterprises’, Dragons and UK business leaders will engage with successful young entrepreneurs to ask: Why should we care about Generation Y? How will the next generation impact the face of global enterprise and how will businesses cope with this demanding generation entering the workplace?

The ‘Forum of Leaders’ event will include a panel discussion and will enable dialogue between business leaders and future leaders on confronting pressing global challenges. The high calibre attendees will debate 1. Roles of ‘Gen Y' and global business leadership; 2. Attitudes, perspectives and stereotypes in business; 3. Global issues facing the Next Generation, and their solutions.

Sir Richard Branson has expressed his support for the launch saying, ‘Best of luck to Brave New Enterprises.’

Panellist and BBC 2 ‘Dragon’ James Caan says, 'The forum discussion that enables business leaders to engage with future leaders on global issues is both enterprising and encouraging. For almost twenty-five years I have supported people with passion in business and I can certainly see this passion behind the Brave New brand.'

Today (Friday 16th November 2007) is ‘Brave New Day’ and sees the launch of Brave New Enterprises by social entrepreneur and founder Lucian Tarnowski. The company will focus on bridging the disconnect between the ‘Gen Y’ers’ - born between 1980 and 2000 - and the corporate world. Gen Y’ers are seen as the most difficult workforce to manage but potently the most rewarding to the business. As James Caan, says: 'I am well aware of the disconnect that exists between Generation Y and the business world. For businesses to remain competitive it is essential that they embrace the pace of change and see generational divides as something to work with rather than against.'

Lucian, 23, was the first undergraduate entrepreneur to receive EU financial backing and Edinburgh University support. He says: 'Gen Y has entered the workplace and are here to stay. Most business leaders are aware of the disconnection between young people and the business world. We aim to bridge this disconnection through facilitating two-way dialogue to enable businesses to embrace a 21st century workplace.’

The Brave New Day ‘Forum of Leaders’ champagne breakfast conference will be held at the UK India Business Council UK (UKIBC) on the 12th Floor, Millbank Tower, London SW1 between 9am - 11am. The UKIBC venue demonstrates the need for a global outlook for the next generation. Indeed, one side of the business in development is Brave New India, which focuses on the next generation of talent in India, the world’s largest population of Gen Y. Chief Executive of the UK IBC and panel chair, Sharon Bamford says: 'It is significant that an initiative such as Brave New India exists to raise awareness of the gap between young people, business and politics. The future of UK India trade and investment lies with the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals and therefore UKIBC is delighted to support such an important enterprise.'

Brave New Enterprises is one of five companies officially launching during National Enterprise Week supported and backed by the Make Your Mark Campaign. Panellist and Channel 4’s 'The Secret Millionaire' Ben Way says: ‘The Brave New Enterprises launch is a fitting conclusion to National Enterprise Week. On ‘Brave New Day’ business leaders will engage with some of the nation’s most successful young entrepreneurs over the future of enterprise and the role of the next generation in confronting global problems. Young entrepreneurs have an important role in pioneering the future world economy and environment.'

Sam Branson, son of Sir Richard Branson is supporting the launch. Sam says, ‘I think it is great when young entrepreneurs take the initiative and have their say on important issues. It is our generation that will have to deal with many of these problems so now is a good time to start. The launch of Brave New Enterprises is an exciting opportunity for young people to get involved in the business world and learn from it.'
