Palo Alto, CA, United States, 11/15/2007 – The CXOs’ Choice Evaluation of Desktop Computing Products research asks various C-Level Executives (i.e., CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CTOs, etc.) to rate desktop computing products on various attributes and select the ‘best’ brands based upon their professional and personal experience.
“The Choice Awards are part of Frost & Sullivan’s global program to recognize outstanding companies who exhibit the best practices across key growth drivers,” says Frost & Sullivan Chairman David Frigstad. “Our belief is that companies who excel will continue to grow and flourish.”
Specifically, Frost & Sullivan asks CXOs to choose the “best” brands for desktop computers, home networking products, keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, scanners, and speakers for the following attributes: customer service, design & looks, durability, ease of use, innovation, and quality & reliability.
While CXOs may select any brand as ‘best’ for the various survey categories, generally the same brands/manufacturers of desktop computing products are chosen year after year. Leading candidates – based upon past study results – include:
• Apple
• Canon
• Dell
• Epson
• HP
• Logitech
• Microsoft
• Sony
“Compared to the 2006 research, we have expanded this year’s research to include additional product categories such as home network security, mice and speakers,” says Frost & Sullivan Director of Competitive Benchmarking Services Tonya Fowler. “The expansion of desktop computing product categories may provide recognition to other companies not revealed in our past studies. Thus, we are excited to see what the results will reveal.”
The 2006 U.S. CXOs’ Choice Evaluation of Desktop Computing Products research resulted in the following brands being chosen as “best” for the following categories:
• Apple was voted the best manufacturer of desktop computers and monitors for their design & looks
• Dell was selected as the best manufacturer of desktop computers for customer service, quality & reliability and value
• HP was chosen as the best manufacturer of printers and scanners for customer service, design & looks, quality & reliability, and value
• Sony was voted as the best manufacturer of monitors and projectors for quality & reliability
Specifically, Frost & Sullivan’s panel of CXOs will be utilized for this research as well as other upcoming CXO research.
