AscenVision, the technology leader in WAN traffic management solutions, has launched its patented technology ‘Tunnel Routing’ - intelligent VPN (Virtual Private Network) optimization technology and integrated it into its flagship product, AscenLink. Tunnel Routing aggregates multiple WAN links into a single virtual tunnel and addresses the problem of VPN load balancing and fault tolerance in a network with dynamic IP addresses. Tunnel routing brings LAN-like Intranet access to improve WAN speeds, maximize performance of mission critical applications and strengthen the VPN reliability - achieved without additional expenses on WAN link upgrades.
With rapid increase of the globalization and outsourcing trends, more and more enterprises have set up subsidiaries where VPN is used as the primary method for subsidiary to headquarters communication. Ordinary VPN devices only allow a VPN tunnel to be established on a single WAN link, but with nett effect of bandwidth limitation, and potential risks of single point of failure. In order for business to scale up, an upgraded WAN link is the only viable solution, but the issue of single point of failure still remains unresolved.
