Walker served as president of the Henry Council for Quality Growth in 2005 and was a member of Board of Directors of the Henry County YMCA for one year. In 2005, Walker was named alumni of the year at Clayton State University. He currently serves on the Clayton State University Foundation Board of Trustees and Advisory Board to the Dean of School of Business.

Born in Fayetteville, Ga. and a Clayton State University graduate, Walker currently lives in Fayetteville with his wife of 30 years, Debbie, and has four daughters. He tries to get in a game of golf and fly airplanes when he has the chance.
