Sidney, Australia, 11/06/2005 – Skype Technologies SA has posted software fixes for most affected users. There are no reports of public exploits for the vulnerabilities.
There is no patch available yet for Skype for Pocket PC users.
These flaws affect a number of Windows versions of the software, from Version 1.1 to Version 1.4.
The 1st of these flaws could be exploited by tricking a Skype™ user to click on a specially crafted URL, while the second would require a Skype user to import a malicious VCard (an electronic business card format used by some e-mail softwares).
Lynx flaw affects Red Hat, Ubuntu Linux. Attackers could exploit a security hole in Lynx -- a text-based Web browser -- to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and launch malicious code.
