XOsphere, LLC, the Pocket Rocket People™, announced today expansion of its footprint in Latin America with the opening of its sales and operations office in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition, the company announced the appointment of Luis Raimundo as head of the new Argentina office.
According to various research reports, Latin America has more than 250 million mobile subscribers, with between 55 and 90 million new subscribers added each year. Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia are expected to account for 80 percent of net additions. Importantly, Latin America is emerging as one of the world's largest integrated markets for mobile content. Some estimates indicate that the mobile content market in Latin America is worth upward of $1.3 billion currently and may reach $2.61 billion in 2012 as premium content services and rich media applications take hold.

Prior to joining XOsphere, Raimundo served as a commercial manager of RAN Ingenieria de Sistemas, an IT security company, representing McAfee, Tumbleweed and Bluecoat. He was also the business manager for Beyond IT, an Argentina-based IT consulting company, where he worked with clients J.P. Morgan and Accenture. He received his degree in computer science from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa.
