Brookfield, WI, United States, 2007/06/05 - Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI) hires Terri Howard to fill new position: Vice President of Corporate Preparedness. In her new role, Howard will help companies develop policies, practices and training solutions to prevent workplace violence.
The Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI) announced the addition of Terri Howard in the new role of Vice President of Corporate Preparedness.
Howard rejoins CPI after serving the Target Corporation as Manager of Safeness. At the Target Corporation, Howard was responsible for developing a corporate-wide program aimed at workplace violence prevention, crisis management, and business continuity.
This is Howard’s second time in a leadership position with CPI. Prior to her work at the Target Corporation, Howard served CPI as the Director of On-Site Sales/Service and previously, as a Professional Staff Instructor of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program, where she trained hundreds of professionals on issues related to workplace violence prevention and behavior management.
“We are very pleased to welcome back our good friend Terri Howard to CPI,” said CPI CEO Dan Jones. “Terri has always remained dedicated to the philosophy of promoting Respect, Service, and Safety at Work®, and her addition reinforces CPI’s position as the worldwide leader in providing relevant and practical behavior management training and consultation.”
In her new role as Vice President of Corporate Preparedness, Howard will assist companies around the world in understanding the cost and impact of violence in the workplace. “With this fundamental knowledge, companies can then go forward and develop proactive strategies through policy development, best practices, and training solutions,” said Howard.
For more than 26 years, the Crisis Prevention Institute has supported the work of professionals who work with challenging or potentially violent individuals by providing relevant, practical training programs and resources. The PrepareTraining® program was developed by CPI in response to the increasing demand of a variety of organizations for adaptable solutions to manage potentially disruptive and even dangerous situations.
The strategies taught in the PrepareTraining® (PrepareTraining.com) program have been effective in reducing the frequency and severity of these situations, increasing staff confidence and morale, and fostering a culture of Respect, Service, and Safety at Work®.
