Riggs Technology announces the release of the NetExtender, a revolutionary product that extends Ethernet beyond the limitation of Ethernet cat5 cable of 328 feet (100 meters).
With Patent Pending technology, the NetExtender extends the distance of Ethernet data by regenerating data packets, so as to extend their potential distance of 328 feet. This technology allows for continuous data packet flow without any attenuation or packet deterioration. The NetExtender can be plugged into any 10/100 MBS switch, thus, providing the end-user the ability to greatly extend their Ethernet network.
By using Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) to power each unit, we’ve eliminated the need to provide local power for each unit, as an additional feature. The NetExtender has the ability to power any other subsequent units deployed in a daisy-chained fashion. When using power splitter devices that are not POE enabled, these can also be powered by the NetExtender.
Engineered for harsh environments, the NetExtender allows for Integrators and Value-Added-Resellers (VARs) to easily integrate into their current Ethernet networks. The NetExtender is designed to be integrated into network environments where Cat5e cable cannot normally reach, due to limitations in current 802.3 standards.
