Backed by competitively priced, superior quality products and innovative strategies, the company has achieved significant market share, particularly in the high-end 3D ultrasound segment.
"Through strong growth in the 3D ultrasound systems, MEDISON Europe BV has overcome the dominance of established multi modality vendors and gained considerable market share," says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Karthik Arun B. "Currently, it is the second largest vendor of 3D ultrasound systems that use a 3D probe along with the 3D software in both radiology and OB/GYN segments."
A top of the line product portfolio backed by an aggressive pricing strategy has allowed the company to make considerable gains in the major markets of Germany, France and Italy, where it has a larger market share than some of its more established Asian counterparts, particularly in 3D ultrasound systems. Currently, MEDISON Europe BV commands a market share of nearly 40 per cent in the high-end 3D and 4D ultrasound segments.
"The strategic launch of MEDISON Europe BV as an independent corporation based out in the Netherlands in late 2005, has allowed it to successfully meet the needs of regional customers and develop effective, country-specific marketing strategies," says Mr. Karthik. "This strategy has supported greater self sufficiency in terms of marketing, sales and service. It has also enabled access to a complete inventory of ultrasound systems and parts, thereby ensuring timely delivery of solutions, services and repairs."
Such organisational restructuring has allowed MEDISON Europe BV to better concentrate on brand building, forging customer ties and promoting marketing activities to advance its brand name amongst key user groups. As a result, the company is now synonymous as manufacturers of quality 3D and 4D ultrasound systems for use in radiology and OB/GYN segments.
"Medison Europe has also shown promising results from key markets in which the competition has been downsizing," concludes Mr. Karthik. "For instance, the company has experienced notable growth in terms of revenues and shares in Germany even as a sceptical competition forecast a slow down in the market."
