Olympia, WA, United States, 2007/04/16 - Wingstop, an award-winning, fast-growing chicken wing franchise known for cooked-to-order wings, has set its sights on diversifying the restaurant and development scene in the Olympia area, with plans to open restaurants immediately.
Wingstop has become a leader in the chicken wing business by successfully expanding into mid- and large-sized markets in 27 states. The company currently has more than 450 restaurants either open or under development and consistently tops industry growth rankings.
“Wingstop has many franchise success stories, and we are banking that our next one will come from Olympia,” said Senior Director of Franchise Recruitment Bruce Evans. “This is the type of market where we thrive. Once a committed and motivated franchisee steps forward to own and operate a location, we’ll be poised to become the best and only option for wings in the area.”
In July 2005, Wingstop ranked No. 13 in Restaurant Business’ Top 50 Growth Chains (ranked by percentage increase in units) and was ranked the No. 1 chicken wing chain by Entrepreneur magazine in 2005. At the end of 2006, the company posted 14 consecutive quarters of comp store sales increases.
Wingstop has been consistently recognized at the National Buffalo Wing Festival. In 2006, the company was chosen Wing King and in 2005 it was selected as Favorite Restaurant. Their Cajun sauce took first place honors for the Best Creative Spicy Sauce in the festival’s blind taste test.
Troy Aikman, three-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame quarterback, has served as the chain’s national spokesman since 2003. Last year, Aikman extended his contract for three more years.
Wingstop offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. The chain now serves boneless wing strips that are made from 100 percent all-white meat chicken breast coated with a proprietary batter and breading. Wingstop features nine wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan, and Hickory Smoked BBQ. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming hot. Customers can also choose from homemade side dishes including fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, creamy cole slaw, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.
