ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, today announced that it will display its fully integrated advanced resuscitation solutions and temperature management system in booth #1417 at the 2016 Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Annual Conference September 15-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Product highlights from ZOLL’s hospital portfolio include the R Series® family of monitor/defibrillators, the X Series® Monitor/Defibrillator for critical care patient transport, OneStep™ Pediatric CPR Electrodes, the AutoPulse® Resuscitation System, and the Thermogard XP® Temperature Management System.
Newer additions to ZOLL’s family of products include the ResQPOD® ITD 10, an impedance threshold device (ITD) that enhances perfusion during CPR, and the Eagle II™, a full-featured portable critical care ventilator designed to be durable and lightweight with a 10-hour battery and multiple modes of ventilation including non-invasive ventilation. The Eagle II MRI is also available.
Unsurpassed CPR Support
ZOLL’s breakthrough CPR technologies, in combination with scenario-based training, have been shown to improve survival-to-hospital discharge and achieve favorable neurological outcomes.1,2 As a result of ZOLL’s focus on high-quality CPR, virtually all of the company’s defibrillators feature Real CPR Help®. This real-time CPR feedback technology reassures rescuers that their chest compressions meet guidelines for depth, rate, and full release.
The ZOLL R Series and X Series defibrillators also offer See-Thru CPR®, a proprietary technology that filters out CPR artifact from the ECG to help rescuers minimize the duration of CPR interruptions. The ZOLL R Series features exclusive technology that sets a new standard for simplicity and operational readiness for in-hospital resuscitation efforts. The compact X Series is ideal for critical care transport and, at a mere 12 pounds, offers pacing, three invasive pressures, two temperature options, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, SpO2, and 12-lead capability.
The AutoPulse is an automated CPR device that delivers customized, high-quality CPR wherever and whenever it’s needed. It is designed to help the hospital staff achieve a more organized code when resources are constrained on nights and weekends, and in the cardiac catheterization lab to keep staff members safe from radiation. In a meta-analysis of 12 comparative clinical trials, the AutoPulse improved the odds of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by 62% when compared to manual CPR.3
First-of-its-kind Pediatric CPR Electrodes
OneStep Pediatric CPR Electrodes, which are used in nearly half of the top 25 pediatric hospitals in the U.S., are the only electrodes on the market with a built-in sensor that reports CPR quality on children up to 8 years of age. This electrode provides optimal support for pediatric resuscitation when paired with the R Series and its CPR Dashboard™.
The R Series offers the most extensive pediatric capabilities available in a professional defibrillator with pediatric support. The OneStep Pediatric CPR Electrodes can be used for monitoring, pacing, cardioversion, and defibrillation, as well as CPR.
Precise and Rapid Control of Core Temperature
ZOLL’s Thermogard XP (TGXP) provides health care professionals with the power and control needed to rapidly, safely, and accurately manage the core body temperature of critically ill or surgical patients with warming and cooling applications.
IPR Therapy to Enhance Blood Flow
The ResQPOD ITD 10 is an impedance threshold device that prevents the influx of air through the open airway during CPR to enhance negative pressure. This negative pressure helps to pull more blood back to the heart, lowers intra-cranial pressure, and allows for more blood to be circulated during CPR. Studies have shown that use of the ResQPOD ITD 10 with high-quality CPR can increase neurologically intact survival by 25% or more.4
