Health+Fitness Business Expo & Conference, a division of Nielsen Business Media, today announced that Paul Zane Pilzer, a best-selling author, world-renowned economist, adjunct professor and wellness expert, will join the August 2-4, 2007 retail strength, cardio and fitness equipment trade show as the keynote speaker.
Pilzer, a “New York Times” best-selling author, will discuss his vision of the future for the fitness and wellness industries and how the opportunities – and challenges – for fitness and wellness professionals are greater than ever before. His philosophies, as outlined in his latest book, “The New Wellness Revolution,” challenge scientists, fitness solution providers, businesspeople, food manufacturers, doctors, and others focused on disease prevention and anti-aging to realize that they are part of a worldwide revolution and a combined industry estimated at $500 billion in 2007, rising to $1 trillion in the next 5 years.

After receiving his MBA from Wharton in 15 months at 22, he became Citibank’s youngest officer at 22 and its youngest vice president at 25. Pilzer taught for 21 years at New York University and over the past 30 years, he has started and/or taken public, five companies in the areas of software, education and financial services.
His success and knowledge quickly made him a nationally recognized businessman and economist and as an appointed economic advisor to two presidential administrations, he warned of the impending savings and loan crisis years before others were willing to listen. Now, Pilzer is attracting attention in the health industry with his most recent book, “The New Wellness Revolution.”
“The New Wellness Revolution” is the second book written by Pilzer that defines and outlines the future of what he calls the “wellness” industry and includes guidance and business advice for businesses, entrepreneurs, product distributors, physicians and other wellness professionals.
