Addressing broadcast and satellite operators, Wilson covered the technology behind IPTV, gave a market overview and highlighted the threats for operators as well as opportunities for content originators.
He also chaired the IPTV and Broadcasting Session, during which panel members discussed the IPTV hype and facts, and how these relates to the broadcast industry. This session wrapped up the day’s programme.
This is the second time that the ABU organized the DTV Symposium in Kuala Lumpur, with the objective to update broadcasters in the Asia Pacific region on the latest developments in digital television from the technical, regulatory, content and business planning perspectives.

Danny Wilson is the founder of Pixelmetrix Corporation, a Singapore-based company that specializes in the design and production of management and telemetry systems for digital broadcasters.
