Salford Quays, Manchester, United Kingdom, 2016/01/22 - Boxchange Ltd, a Manchester based consulting firm has been granted P3M3 Accreditation and becomes an official AXELOS Consulting Partner - Boxchange.co.uk.
Consulting firm Boxchange Ltd today announced that it has been accredited as a P3M3 AXELOS Consulting Partner. The Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3) provides a framework for organisations to assess and benchmark their current performance and effectively develop plans for improvement.
P3M3 has become a key standard amongst maturity models and provides a framework within which organisations can assess their current performance and plan for improvement when managing and delivering any kind of change.
Simon Cook, Managing Director of Boxchange said,"We’ve worked hard to get this accreditation and we’re thrilled. P3M3 will be a very important component of our overall offering going forward and adds to the other high quality consulting solutions we are able to offer our clients.”
P3M3 provides three maturity models that can be used separately to focus on specific areas of the business or more generally to help organisations assess the change delivery capabilities across their portfolios, programmes and projects. It allows an assessment of the process employed, the competencies of people, the tools deployed and the management information used to manage and deliver improvements. This allows organizations to determine their strengths and weaknesses in delivering change.
Mark Murray, Boxchange’s Director of Consulting explained: “The P3M3 approach benefits an organisation by providing a common, integrated vision of improvement. This integrated approach leads to decreased costs and improvements in on-time delivery, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. There are many other benefits that can be gained from using P3M3 from benchmarking an organisation’s capabilities against others, to providing an objective assessment of strengths and weaknesses and plans for continual progression.”
P3M3 is based on the process maturity framework that evolved from the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM), now known as the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). Version 1 of P3M3 was released in 2005, and was designed on the premise that organizations increase effectiveness in each of the P3M domains incrementally. So you had to be good at project management before you could try your hand at programme management, and you had to be good at both before you could succeed in portfolio management. The lesson from the increasing adoption of programme management in particular, was that some organisations could comfortably grasp programme management without being especially good at projects, and vice versa.
Boxchange will be launching P3M3 in early February as part of a fully integrated range of change solutions for organisatons of all sizes which can be delivered to clients more cost-effectively than the top tier consulting firms.
