Lebanese technology firm 365Comm announced this week that it has appointed mobile industry pioneer Brian OliverSmith as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment of Mr. OliverSmith reflects the company’s broadening strategic scope from products and software development to marketing, business development, and a go-to-market strategy and implementation.
A pioneering expert in digital content development and worldwide mobile distribution of digital media products, Mr. OliverSmith has over 20 years of executive leadership and mobile industry experience. In 2007 Brian founded Urban Planet Mobile, a global leading developer and distributor of digital products for all mobile devices with distribution in 40 countries. Mr. OliverSmith and his company were the recipients of four global awards including:
- 2013 GSMA Global Mobile Award Winner;
- 2013 ‘Gartner Cool Vendor’ Recipient;
- 2013 Frost & Sullivan Most Innovative App Designee;
- 2014 MoviFest Award for Latin America.
In partnership with the GSMA, Mr. OliverSmith published an industry-standard ‘mobile education best practices’ white paper on how to work with Mobile Carriers to launch mobile education products. In 2015, Urban Planet Mobile was acquired by Sibling Group Holdings, a publicly traded company, and was appointed CEO of Sibling Group.
Mr. OliverSmith is regarded as an industry expert on mobile technologies and mobile learning, and has delivered over 700 speeches and presentations at industry events and conferences, including Mobile World Congress, International CES, The Global Impact Forum, and for Duke TEDx.
