The ranking is based on a survey of more than 25,000 online advertisers, publishers, and agencies in the affiliate marketing industry, and was conducted by media entity mThink, publishers of Revenue+Performance magazine.

The survey identifies the top 20 CPS and CPA performance marketing networks among the more than 500 in consideration. The survey takes into account reputation, influence, clientele, popularity, and scale in order to consolidate key information necessary in choosing a network. An external panel of unbiased, third party industry experts, who represent every aspect of the affiliate marketing industry, provides additional input into the survey and validates the results.
