According to the recently published report by TechSci Research,“Indonesia Construction Chemicals Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019”, the construction chemicals market in Indonesia is projected to grow at 13.6% over the next five years. Increasing investments in the construction industry is the major factor for growth in the country’s construction chemicals market. The geographical location of Indonesia has been the most advantageous for EXIM trades. However, around 17% of the total expenditure is incurred by companies in terms of logistics cost for trading their goods and materials. Consequently, six corridors have been announced by the Government of Indonesia under its Masterplan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia Economic Development (MP3EI) plan for improving economic connectively. About 45% of the overall investments in MP3EI plan would be allocated for infrastructure development in the country. Such a scenario is expected to create lucrative space and growth opportunity for the construction chemicals market in Indonesia.

The construction chemicals market is broadly classified into five segments, namely Admixtures, Flooring Compounds, Waterproofing Compounds, Adhesives & Sealants and Repair & Rehabilitation Chemicals. Several foreign players, such as Sika, BASF and FOSROC are looking to expand their regional footprint inthe country, which is expected to bring about consolidation in the market in the coming years.

“Significant investments have been planned by the Government of Indonesia in the construction industry. To achieve 7% economic growth from 2014 through 2019, infrastructure investments worth around USD690 billion have been recently announced by the government. Such strong growth in the infrastructure sector would significantly boost the demand for a whole range of construction chemicals in the country. On account of these factors, construction chemicals market in Indonesia is expected to reach new heights over the next five years.”, said Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.
