Kemin launched its knowlEDGE program, an information sharing platform that brought together industry experts and layer farmers from the Namakkal region. Recognizing the importance of knowledge sharing, the program is designed to help industry leaders exchange and disseminate information for industry growth and development.
“The idea is to bring loyal layer customers of Kemin under one roof to share current insights on marketing trends, layer nutrition and feed raw material management practices that are used around the world by poultry experts,” said Mr. Kannan, Kemin Marketing Manager of the animal nutrition and health division in India.
During the knowlEDGE program, Mr. Samraj Jeyachandran, Kemin Senior Vice President of the animal nutrition and health division in India, discussed the many products, services and technologies of Kemin.
In addition, one of the key speakers, Mr. G Chandrasekhar, Associate Editor of The Hindu Businessline, updated the crowd on egg commodity marketing. He presented the current status of today’s egg marketing and detailed future trends. During his interaction with farmers, he highlighted ways in which egg consumption could be increased.
Furthermore, Mr. Rama Subba Reddy, a well-known poultry nutritionist, enlightened farmers on optimal layer nutrition and shared guidelines for how to work with digestible amino acid based formulations.
“Ingredient usage patterns have changed over the years,” said Dr. S Chandrasekhar, Kemin Product Manager, during his session on managing profitability through nutrition. “Enzymes, such as NutriKEM™ XLP and KEMZYME® XPF, help to reduce production costs if used in the right way.” He also pointed out the ingredient digestibility challenges faced by layer farmers and explained how these can be handled successfully.
Following the presentations, layer farmers visited the Kemin factory in Gummidipondi, India and interacted with Kemin employees to become familiar with the manufacturing and production process of Kemin. They also visited the company’s trial and laboratory facility where they witnessed the high quality standards upheld by Kemin.
