Beats by Dr. Dre, Coca-Cola, and Red Bull are generating the most attention across the digital landscape today according to the ratings.
By aggregating engagement data across the most critical and widely trafficked digital platforms, ListenFirst DER provides marketers, advertisers, agencies, researchers, and sales teams with an independent tool to assess the level of consumer engagement being generated by leading consumer brands.
ListenFirst DER is based on an algorithm that measures customer engagement with brands across Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Wikipedia, and YouTube. This standardized, cross-platform rating will enable brands to understand the magnitude of consumer affinity for their brands as measured through digital engagements, and compare their performance to the rest of the competitive landscape.
As part of the roll-out, ListenFirst is also introducing the ListenFirst Digital Engagement Index™ (DEI), which provides an industry average of the ListenFirst Digital Engagement Ratings among the top 500 brands as identified in the Redbooks 500, which tracks top brands based on weightings of brand revenue, advertising spend, and social media engagement. The ListenFirst DEI will serve the same function in the marketing world as the S&P 500 does in the financial world: to provide a perspective on how the market is trending, while giving brands a reference point on how they are performing relative to the market as a whole. The Index value will be published daily on MediaPost, positioning the ListenFirst DER as the industry standard for measuring digital engagement across the consumer brand landscape.
ListenFirst DER will be offered on a subscription basis to brands, agencies, advertisers, research firms and other ecosystem partners. The top ranking brands, along with the ListenFirst DEI, will appear daily on ListenFirst's Data Services Portal.
Jason Klein, ListenFirst Co-Founder and Co-CEO: “In today’s on-demand world, consumers are engaging with brands at all hours of the day on dozens of different platforms and every kind of device. For a brand, that presents an overwhelming opportunity and challenge: how do you sift through the noise to tell a simple story about the engagement around your brand and content? ListenFirst DER finally fill this void, giving brands the tools to understand how consumers are engaging with them online, while providing a measurement standard to compare their performance to others in their space.”
Elwyn Gladstone, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Proximo Spirits (Jose Cuervo, Three Olives, Kraken, etc.): “Until now, there’s been no standardized, cross-channel metric that we can use throughout the Proximo portfolio to understand how our consumers are engaging with our brands online. We’re launching activations on many different platforms - not just one - and yet we’ve had to go platform-by-platform to try to figure out what’s resonating. ListenFirst DER has completely revolutionized our toolkit, because for the first time, we can truly understand the full picture of engagement around our brands. This is huge for the brand marketing landscape, where it’s been a struggle to tell consistent stories about consumer engagement on these new platforms with competitive context.”
