The Georgia Affiliate of the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants announces an elegant celebration on January 8, 2015. The event, Celebrating You: Legacies, Leaders & Luminaries Celebration Dinner, will focus on its guest of honor, Johnnie L. Clark, CPA, MBA, Ph.D., a lifelong champion for diversity and inclusion.
This elegant event will be held at the National Center for Civil & Human Rights. The evening will feature a reception, dinner and program honoring Dr. Clark and will include the awarding of recognitions and scholarships to rising stars in accounting, a cause that Dr. Clark passionately pursued during her illustrious career.
Dr. Clark is one of Atlanta’s great women: a leader in accounting, business and education. She is a founding member of the AWSCPA of Georgia and a lifelong champion for diversity and inclusion. Among her many career milestones are service as an educator, a bank president and Dean of the Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University) Graduate School of Business.
At the age of 83, Dr. Clark has seen immense changes in her lifetime. She endured rigid segregation and prejudice. “That was life as I lived it.” Through her struggle she became a fierce advocate for fairness and opportunity striving to ensure equal rights and inclusion for all. She is a true leader and shining example.
