Prescott, AZ, United States, 2014/09/25 - Companies invest fortunes on innovation and product strategy. But, by some estimates, 80% or more fail to achieve their desired results. Why? During World Strategy Week, noted strategy experts will gather to discuss this question among others - WorldStrat.
Business strategist Deepa Prahalad, of Arogya World, joins Balanced Scorecard Institute CEO Howard Rohm and others to talk about how to solve strategy implementation dilemma from 9:00 - 10:30 am, November 5. Jeroen De Flander, an international strategy execution expert, and Chris Paton, CEO of Quirk Solutions and one of the UK's premier exponents on war gaming, join them on the panel.
Prahalad speaks at business schools such as USC and Harvard on design strategy using the EMPOWER framework she developed and conducts workshops for executives. She co-authored the book, Predictable Magic: Unleash The Power of Design Strategy To Transform Your Business, which was selected by Fast Company as one of the “Best Design Books of the Year” in 2010.
Rohm developed the Balanced Scorecard Institute's Nine Steps to Success™ scorecard Methodology and certification program. His balanced scorecard and performance management systems have been adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives (Chief Administrative Officer), several offices of the United Nations, the American Public Gas Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and several branches of the US military.
De Flander, one of the world’s most influential thinkers on strategy execution, has shared the stage with
prominent thinkers like Michael Porter, Costas Markides, Bob Kaplan & David Norton. His first book, Strategy Execution Heroes, reached the Amazon bestseller list in 5 countries and was nominated for Management Book of the Year 2012 in the Netherlands.
Paton, a strategy, planning and change specialist and a former Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines, has co-authored a Harvard Business Review article on planning in fluid situations.
The panelists will paint the landscape of implementation failure, identify the causes of non-execution and mis-execution, and offer ideas and recommendations on how organizations can do a much better job delivering on the strategic vision.
Areas ripe for consideration by the panel include:
• Organization-wide engagement in the strategy making process;
• Internal alignment and collaboration;
• Management knowledge and capabilities;
• Leader focus and sponsorship;
