Berk-Tek Leviton Technologies completed three day-long technical events as part of their data center seminar series, which included educational presentations on the latest data center trends and network technologies. IT and data center managers who manage some of the most advanced data centers in the country attended the events. The seminar series will continue through 2015 in cities around the United States.
"The seminars specifically examine changing network architecture options, including switch and server equipment, layouts, costs, and cabling best practices" explained Gary Bernstein, RCDD CDCD, Senior Director of Fiber and Data Center Product Management, Leviton Network Solutions. "We also cover the emergence of 10GBASE-T as the most cost-effective access layer networking option, and how to prepare for the migration to 40 GbE and 100 GbE."
Berk-Tek Leviton Technologies discussed some of the major trends in the data center management sector, including server virtualization, cloud computing and growing bandwidth demands. The seminar series allowed Leviton and Berk-Tek the opportunity to not only share insight into the trends that are shaping the industry, but also offer solutions designed specifically to combat the challenges of today and tomorrow.
"End users are looking for high-density solutions for fiber and copper ports, and we present cabling system options such as Berk-Tek's smallest diameter MDP fiber optic cable combined with Leviton Opt-X® HD Enclosures," said Mike Connaughton, RCDD, CDCD, Data Center Market Segment Manager at Berk-Tek. "This system reduces pathway fill, improves air flow, and provides the highest-density backbone connectivity available for data centers and SAN installations."
The seminars were held on April 1 at the SAP Arena in San Jose, Calif., August 12 at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Va., and August 13 at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
Many of the topics covered at these seminars were recently presented in the webinar "40G Data Center Infrastructure Secrets," presented by Mike Connaughton, which is available for free online at Brighttalk.com/.
