The conference will happen in Rio de Janeiro, from August 26th to 28th. In the occasion, the company will show its solutions for wind power generation, including its modern wind turbine, innovative solutions, among lectures with Alstom’s executives about the wind power market.
The ECO 122, now also designed with 119 meters (besides of the 89 meters model), is the main product presented in the event. The new generation of this model has a capacity of generation about 3,0 MW, yield 6% higher than the version with 2,7 MW.
Another spotlight is the concept of PURE TORQUE™, an exclusive and proven mechanical project that protects the transmission system against deflection loads to ensure greater reliability, superior operational availability and lower maintenance costs.
“In this kind of events, we have the opportunity to reinforce the innovations that Alstom has been bringing to its businesses and we are also able to strengthen the relationship with our clients”, says Pierre-Francois Chenevier, Senior Vice President of Alstom Wind business in Latin America.
Alstom has more than 30 years of experience in the wind power market worldwide. The company has more than 2.600 wind turbines installed or in construction in more than 200 wind farms all over the world, which represents a capacity around 5.000 MW. The company designs, manufactures, installs and operates wind turbines onshore and offshore of 1.67MW to 6MW, providing solutions to different geographic locations and with most challenging weather conditions. This business represents today one of the most growth areas for the company in the country. With its expertise globally and its local presence, Alstom is prepared to support and integrate all strategic generate projects in Brazil and in Latin America.
Among Alstom’s main contracts signed in Brazil is Renova Energia, one of the major initiatives in the whole world at the onshore power market. The project includes the supply of 440 wind turbines with a minimum capacity of 1.5 GW. Another important contract is with Tractebel Energia Brasil, signed recently, for Trairí II’s wind farm, in Ceará. This project will generate 97,2MW and includes the supply of 36 ECO 122 units of 2,7 MW each. This is the first wind farm to receive equipments that will have the towers up to 119 meters, designed specifically for ECO 122, the main innovative product presented in the event.
