Detroit, MI, United States, 2014/08/05 - Turner is proud to announce the completion of Blue Ribbon Restaurant Group’s latest outpost, Blue Ribbon Sushi, located at Hudson Eats, an upscale food hall and dining terrace inside Brookfield Place at 225 Liberty Street - TurnerConstruction.com.
The boutique style sushi restaurant is the 16th addition to the restaurant group’s dining portfolio.
“The opening represents Turner’s ability to complete fast-tracked projects within complex sites,” said Turner Project Superintendent, Anthony Jakuc. “We worked closely with the client and their design team to produce a high-quality dining experience for Battery Park City residents and Brookfield Place tenants.”
Designed by Asfour Guzy Architects, the project features a sleek, minimalistic sushi bar, additional casual dining areas and a full service kitchen. The kitchen is a well-appointed, complete with top-of-the-line custom-made Sam Tell & Sons stainless steel appliances.
“We sought to design a refined, quiet backdrop to allow the food to shine, and relied on Turner to deliver,” said John Eagle, LEED AP Senior Associate at Asfour Guzy Architects. “We selected natural materials and used clean, architectural lines to punctuate the dining environment.”
Finishes include stained white oak wood horizontal paneling, countertops made of imported carrara marble, stainless and recessed light fixtures and hand-crafted wood signage. The project required close coordination, and a meticulous eye for detail, as many of the installations were handcrafted finishes.
“This new Blue Ribbon location will service the community by providing high quality, real sushi in an inviting and casual environment,” said Executive Sushi Chef, Kazutaka Iimori. “Our location continues the Blue Ribbon Restaurant tradition by providing a bar style layout that will facilitate interaction between the chefs and customers.”
